Principal's Message:
At Boonsboro Elementary School we take pride in leading education in Warrior Nation by creating academic and social/emotional learning opportunities for all students. To accomplish academic progress, our goals are focused on keeping students engaged with visual, auditory, hands-on, and collaborative learning situations connected directly to the WCPS Essential Curriculum. A key component to student achievement at Boonsboro Elementary is our dedication to process driven approaches such as progress monitoring formal and informal assessment procedures to help prepare and ensure instructional strategies meet the needs of all learning styles.
As the Magnet School for Global Citizenship, students in our 2nd through 5th grade magnet program benefit from connecting the WCPS Essential Curriculum to project-based learning through the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In doing so, our magnet students pride themselves on being global communicators, problem solvers, and inquisitive innovators by engaging in ethical practices of citizenship within the community, across the state, throughout the country, and worldwide. A perk for all students at Boonsboro Elementary School is our Global Exploration Enrichment class which students rotate through on a weekly basis as one of their Encore classes. During this time, students develop and apply critical thinking and reasoning skills to analyze personal experiences, understand diverse perspectives, and evaluate information about the world around them.
School culture and climate is a key ingredient of success for students/parents, teachers, and staff members at Boonsboro Elementary. Our active PTA provides a wide range of support within and outside of the school setting and our School Improvement Team facilitates three separate committees focusing on PBIS, Parent Involvement, and School Climate. Each committee develops theme-based events and special occasions for students and families to participate in throughout the year within and outside of the school day.
On behalf of the entire Boonsboro Elementary School staff, we look forward to being part of your child’s success,
Dr. Eric Meredith
